Lenora Berthena Chrislip

1879–1917

Lenora Berthena Chrislip (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Jacob Christlieb2, George Chrislep3, Thomas B. Chrislip4, Abraham Asbury Chrislip5) [161], born 9 December 1879; died 6 February 1917 of appendicitis; married, 26 January 1899, Barbour County, West Virginia, Vandore Trimble, born 23 March 1873, Monterey, Highland, Virginia; died 4 January 1960, Philippi, Barbour County, West Virginia. Lenora and Vandore Trimble are buried in Oreslip Cemetery, Pepper, Barbour County, West Virginia. Lenora and Vandor Trimble reportedly had eight children of whom five survived.

The 1910 federal census for Elk, Harrison County, West Virginia, reports that Lenora B. Trimble had 6 children, with only four living. At that time, 19 April 1910, children living were Darwin, age 10; Marion F., age 7; Hobert V., age 3; and Victoria C., age 1.

  • Hobart B. Trimble (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Jacob Christlieb2, George Chrislep3, Thomas B. Chrislip4, Abraham Asbury Chrislip5, Lenora Berthena Chrislip6) [176], born 7 March 1907; married Della ___; died August 1978, Fulks Run, Virginia.

  • Victoria Catherine Trimble (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Jacob Christlieb2, George Chrislep3, Thomas B. Chrislip4, Abraham Asbury Chrislip5, Lenora Berthena Chrislip6) [166], born 6 February 1909; died 22 February 1942; married, 1923, Daniel Randolph Hawkinberry, born 10 August 1891; died 10 January 1970.

Chrislip4, Abraham Asbury Chrislip5, Lenora Berthena Chrislip6) [176], born 21 June 1916, Pepper, Barbour County, West Virginia; died 31 August 1973, at Bridgeport, Harrison County, West Virginia; married, 28 January 1939, in Philippi, Barbour County, West Virginia, Hazel Frances Mouser, daughter of Harry Franklin and Lulu Virginia Mouser born 30 Mar 1917, Newburg, Preston County, West Virginia, died 1975, Bridgeport, Harrison County, West Virginia. Robert and Frances Trimble were buried in the Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport, Harrison County, West Virginia. In their old age, Robert cared for his grandparents, Abraham and Malissa Chrislip. The 1930 Census shows Robert Trimble living in the Sample household next to his grandparents. At that point, Abraham Chrislip was 79 years old and Malissa was 80.
