News for You!

The Twenty-first Biennial Reunion is now scheduled to be held July 26-28, 2024, in Buckhannon, West Virginia

Plans for our Reunion had to be canceled last year. For the details of the cancellation of the reunion, please see reunion planning page at, Reunion 2023.

So, we are attempting to hold at least one more Reunion [it will still be called the Twenty-first Biennial Reunion] with the hope and expectation that we will attract a larger number of cousins to attend, making it worthwhile to continue holding our biennial reunions.

Some of our membership assumed that the Association would come to an end with the passing of Ned Crislip. And some others of our membership wanted to continue the functions of our Association. I, your editor and webmaster, wish to continue to keep the Association alive, but perhaps in a limited way, if necessary.

It was decided at our delayed 20th Biennial Reunion, held in 2022, that we would attempt to hold one more reunion, in 2023, [now 2024], to see if we can attract a larger number of people to attend, so that we can have reason to keep the Association alive. The latest information on this year's Reunion can be found by clicking on Reunion 2024.

Yes, we have done a lot of research in Bad Dürkheim, and many cousins may think we have found all we can find there. Maybe that is true. But I believe we can continue to share family stories and memorabilia and keep our family reunions going. But we need help from you, our members and other interested folks, to do so.

We also have cemetery maintenance, and commemorative sign maintenance to consider. I, personally, saw one of our commemorative road signs that was in need of re-painting, as the old paint had come off rendering that sign unreadable when driving by.

If you have any news you would like to pass along to our members and cousins, please send me an email, or give me a phone call, and I will post the news on this page for all to see. My email address can be found at the bottom of each and every page in this web site, and complete contact information can be found in either the Contact Us page of this website or in your copy of Jacob's Ladder on page 2.

Christlieb-Chrislip-Crislip Family Association Website

This website, created in the summer of 2014, supersedes an earlier Christlieb-Chrislip-Crislip Family Association website that spanned the years 1989 through 2009. Near the end of that website’s time, further research in Germany and the United States, as well as the massive collection of data pertaining to the descendants of Friedrich Carl and Anna Catharina Christlieb, required that the website be created anew.

Hopefully, this new website will supplant other Internet publications not authorized by the Christlieb-Chrislip-Crislip Family Association. Collectively, these publications contain errors, incorrect suppositions, and worst of all, false information. Adding to the effrontery is the fact that the most blatant of this misinformation can be viewed on Ancestry.com, where it appears as fact; the most perfect example being Gottlieb Christlieb, the purported father of Friedrich Carl Christlieb, a man who never existed.

Viewers of this website can be assured that the information presented is as accurate as possible. Data gleaned from courthouse records, state files, libraries, and historical societies, has been fully documented. Collected information, pertaining to descendants of Friedrich Carl and Anna Christlieb that has been passed down through families and reported, is assumed to be as accurate as possible.
