Membership in the Christlieb-Chrislip-Crislip Family Association

Membership in the Christlieb-Chrislip-Crislip Family Association is open to all descendants of Friedrich Carl and Anna Catharina Christlieb, as well as anyone else interested in our Christlieb-Chrislip-Crislip genealogy.

Through the family newsletter, Jacob's Ladder, members will receive occasional results of genealogical research when available. But now the emphasis is on member contributions, focusing on the opportunity to exchange family history, family stories, and photos of memorabilia with other members. From time to time, there will be articles of general interest, typically in the field of genealogy. The newsletter includes features such as; 'Applause! Applause!' which showcases family members who are recognized for their accomplishments like high school or college graduations or promotions at work, and 'Sunshine and Sorrow' where we post announcements of births, marriages and deaths in our extended family. Jacob's Ladder has been in continuous publication for over 39 years, almost unheard of in family genealogical organizations. You may view the first few issues of Jacob's Ladder on the Newsletter page of our website. Just click the Newsletter button at the top of this page.

The annual Basic membership fee is $15. This fee goes toward postage, preparation and printing of our newsletter, and biennial meeting correspondence and costs. Additional contributions can also be made: to further the Association's efforts in genealogical research, cemetery maintenance, and, to enrich our scholarship fund. The Sustaining and Contributing membership levels don't provide any additional benefits, other than to help further the the efforts of the Association in areas that need financial help the most.

At this time, we can really use your help in supporting our Scholarship Fund. Over the years we have given over $9,000 in scholarships to deserving college students, who are members of our Family Association. During our 17th Biennial Reunion, we depleted our scholarship fund—almost. We had $1 left. With the high cost of education, we can really use your support in re-building our Scholarship Fund.

Our fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30 of the following year. So please get your membership renewal in the mail to our Secretary-Treasurer as soon as possible, in June or July, to receive all our communications and newsletters throughout the year.

Pay Dues by Postal Mail

The Association Membership Form is available in pdf format.  Click to open the form and then click on the printer symbol at the top of the display to print a copy of the membership form.  You can then fill out the form, enclose a check, and send it to David Downs, our Secretary-Treasurer, at the address below, and be sure to let him know if you are paying dues for others in addition to yourself. Also, please provide your e-mail address, if you have one, so we can send informational e-mail only on Family Association-related matters. E-mail addresses are never shared with anyone outside the Family Association.

You now have a choice in the format of the award-winning newsletter, Jacob's Ladder. Historically, we have been sending hardcopy newsletters to our membership for over 35 years. We are now making it possible to receive your newsletter via email, in pdf format. Most of the newsletters will be in full color, but only the electronic version. If you are already a member of the Christlieb-Chrislip-Crislip Family Association and wish to change formats, please download the Newsletter Preference Form, fill it out and mail it to David Downs, our Secretary-Treasurer.
