Mary Ann Ours

1819–1901

Mary Ann Ours, born 14 February 1819; married David Willett about 1841. They lived in the Philippi district of Barbour County, Virginia. Born 20 November 1819, David was the son of Elwin and Elfreda Willett. Mary Ann and David had a family of eleven children. According to the Barbour County death records, David Willett died of pneumonia on 27 June 1886, at age 66 years, 7 months, 7 days, as reported by his widow, Mary Ann. David’s place of burial in the Philippi area is unknown. In later years, Mary Ann Willett lived with her youngest daughter and family near Parsons, Tucker County, West Virginia. She died 9 November 1901, and was buried near her daughter in the Bethel Cemetery, which is also known as Holly Meadows Cemetery, north of Parsons. Barbour County Book of Deaths, Vol. 1, p. 92.

  • Mary E. Willett (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Jacob Christlieb2, Nancy Crislip3, Mary Ann Ours4) [557], born ca. 1847; married B. Frank Heatherly, 16 August 1866.

  • John Willett (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Jacob Christlieb2, Nancy Crislip3, Mary Ann Ours4) [557], born ca. 1849.

  • Amanda M. Willett (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Jacob Christlieb2, Nancy Crislip3, Mary Ann Ours4) [558], born December 1852; married David Sander, 20 June 1867.

  • Martha P. Willett (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Jacob Christlieb2, Nancy Crislip3, Mary Ann Ours4) [558], born ca. 1842.born 20 February 1854; married, 24 September 1874, Eldredge Sturm(s). Martha died 1 November 1844 in Tucker County, West Virginia.

  • Isaac Willett (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Jacob Christlieb2, Nancy Crislip3, Mary Ann Ours4) [558], born 30 July 1856; married, 24 September 1874, Mary F. (Gawthrop) Proudfoot. Isaac Willett died in 1931, in Iowa.

  • Sylvester Willett (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Jacob Christlieb2, Nancy Crislip3, Mary Ann Ours4) [558], born August 1858; married, 21 July 1878, Lillie Sayre.

  • Abraham Willett (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Jacob Christlieb2, Nancy Crislip3, Mary Ann Ours4) [558], born ca. 1861.

  • Charles Willett (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Jacob Christlieb2, Nancy Crislip3, Mary Ann Ours4) [558], born 18 August 1863; married, 23 January 1889, Ettie M. Barrett. Charles died 15 February 1951. He was buried in Mount Vernon Memorial Cemetery, Philippi, Barbour County, West Virginia.
