Samuel Christlieb
1817–1892
Samuel Christlieb, born 10 January 1817; christened, 20 April 1817, at Ziegler’s Church, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania by the Rev. Benjamin Keller. Samuel’s baptismal sponsors were his uncle and aunt, George and Elizabeth Christlieb. Samuel Christlieb died 26 November 1892 and was buried in Fairview Cemetery, Huntertown, Allen, Indiana.

Samuel Christlieb married, 30 December 1847 in Stark County, Ohio, Malinda Albaugh, born 8 July 1824. (Her gravestone uses the spelling Melinda.) Malinda was the daughter of Eli Alabough/Albaugh and Hannah Pearch, who were married 1 January 1822 in Tuscarawas County, Ohio at New Philadelphia. Malinda died 7 November 1894. The Albaugh surname sometimes appears in records with the spellings Albough or Albach.
Samuel and Malinda lived on a farm adjacent to Samuel’s father John Christlieb, in Pike Township. Their ten children were born there, and three died there. Samuel and Malinda are buried in the Fairview Cemetery in Allen County, Indiana.
