Registration Form for our Eighteenth Biennial Reunion
Complete Your C-C-C Reunion Registration Now
You Have Until July 15th
You can download or print a copy of the Reunion Registration Form here, fill it out and mail it with your check to Roger Roberts, our treasurer.
Please also consider bringing your memorabilia from earlier generations of your C-C-C family ancestors. We would like to photograph them and record the history of them for archiving and for sharing with future generations of our family.
If you are not comfortable bringing fragile antiques, then please photograph them and bring your photos and stories along. We can then take photos of the photos, or if you can bring the digital files of those photographs on a thumb drive, CD, etc. that would be great as well.
The First Planning Meeting Has Taken Place
The Meeting Place and Dates have been finalized. Please mark your calendars now to avoid conflicts later on.
We are planning tours between Buckhannon, Weston, and Philippi to meet a variety of interests. The Philippi Crislip family cemetery, Philippi Museum, Weston Glass Museum, Lambert Winery tour, French Creek Wildlife Zoo, the Weston Asylum (with unique historical architecture and possible Crislip Docent) and a possible visit to the cemetery site of Alvin D. Crislip (Civil War veteran) are under consideration.
If you live near Buckhannon, West Virginia, and would like to help get ready for our next Reunion, please give our Vice President, Bill Crislip, a call or an email. Bill's contact information is here.
What, not a member? If you wish to attend our Reunion, please get started now by filling out a copy of our Christlieb-Chrislip-Crislip Family Association Statement, which can be found on our Membership page. Be sure to watch for the Eighteenth Biennial Reunion Registration information, which will be posted here as soon as plans are finalized.
Family Association Scholarship Applications
Applications for the Christlieb-Chrislip-Crislip Family Association Scholarships are made in the form of a letter. The letter should include the applicant's academic background, the institution of higher learning, which the applicant wishes to attend, as well as the chosen field of study.
The applicant should also include any other information that will aid the committee in making their selections. If so desired, applicants may also include their genealogical background.
Letters of application should be mailed to Susan Christlieb Naugle, 650 Red Patch Avenue, Gettysburg, PA 17325. Applications should be received no later than June 15, 2017.
Family Association Scholarship Donations Needed
Since 1995, our family association has granted scholarships for students entering higher education. Over these twenty years, announcing the recipients of these awards has been an essential part of each biennial reunion agenda.
Due to the generosity of our membership, we have been able to grant two or three $500 scholarships at a time. Thank you very much for your support! We are very pleased to announce that with recent donations, we have met our goal, and are able to proivde funding for two $500 scholarships! Please, if you can, keep the donations rolling in and perhaps we can offer larger scholarships this year.
A great big THANK YOU goes out to all who have donated to this great cause!
Scholarship Fund (2 $500 scholarships)
Donations to the Scholarship Fund have been traditionally made at the time of membership renewal, along with donations to cemetery maintenance, genealogical research, and other endeavors of the Association. Because the time for membership renewal has passed, we are asking members to contribute any amount they can to the Scholarship Fund. Kindly send your check to: Roger Roberts, 15970 Kruhm Road, Burtonsville, Maryland 20866. Please enter "Scholarship Fund" on the memo line of your check. Thanks.
UPDATE! UPDATE!
Apr. 6, 2017 - Thanks for your generosity! We are pleased to report that the current level of our Scholarship Fund is at 107% of the amount required to give two $500 scholarships. Just because we have reached our initial goal of $1,000, please don't stop there. It would be great if we could increase the amount of our scholarships this year.
Reunion Update!
List of Activities is Coming Together!
April 21, 2017 - Plans are coming together for an excellent reunion. You can reserve rooms at the Bi-Centennial at 304-0472-5000 with code: CRISL.
We will, of course, have our usual memorabilia room for fellowship and sharing. We will announce when it will be available. So please be sure to bring your favorite memorabilia to share with your cousins. Also, if you cannot bring large items, or maybe they are too fragile to bring, please take pictures of them and bring your pictures along. You also can send your digital pictures to Lee Wise, who would be willing to incorporate them into a slide show for presentation during the reunion. Please contact Lee at leewise@cableone.net for more information.
The following are events and activities you may wish to consider taking part in during the reunion. The list is subject to change. And, meetings and presentations will be scheduled and announced as plans are finalized.

Update May 24, 2017
Please note an error correction above in the Invitation Announcement and on the Registration Form that has been mailed to our membership. The dates of the Reunion had been incorrect since the first announcement. The ending date was incorrectly listed as the 24th of July, which is a Monday. It should have been Sunday, July 23rd. Official activities begin on Friday, July 21st, and for those who arrive on Thursday, there will be fellowship and visiting during the evening. That location will be announced at a later time.
Update June 25, 2017 - There's Still Time!
Somehow the June 15th deadline date slipped through my fingers without a notice. My mistake! Bill Crislip informed me that the Bicentennial Inn does not need our numbers until a week before the event. So please try to get your Registration Forms in to Roger Roberts before July 15th instead. So if you weren't just sure about going this year, and haven't yet decided, there's still time. I urge you to think seriously about coming.
This is where it all started with the West Virginia Branch of the family. And, this is where many of our family members were laid to rest. We are planning visits to posibly four cemeteries during the weekend:
- We will have a consecration ceremony for the installation of a resting bench at the Chrislip Cemetery in Chrislip Hollow.
- We may visit the Knights of Pythius (KofP) Cemetery in Burnsville, where family members may be found.
- If there's time, we might visit the Crislip/Anderson Civil War Cemetery in Walkersville, where Alvin D. and Mary V. Crislip are buried. This is the cemetery that was written about a couple times in our newsletter.
If we don't make it to all the cemeteries, I will have slide shows of the headstones that may be found there.
For families with younger children along, you can entertain the kids at French Creek Wildlife Center.
There are also the Weston Glass Museums, for those who have an intrest.
Plans are still progressing. Stay tuned.
Update July 15, 2017 - Here is the Program of Events for the Eighteenth Biennial Reunion!
Here is the link to view the program for this year's C-C-C Reunion. Everything has come together, and we are ready. Ned Crislip made the comment that he has never seen such a flurry of emails flying back and forth among our planning committee as he has this last couple of weeks. And that's a good thing!
Please visit this page often to learn about the details of the reunion as they are finalized.
