Isaac A. Christlieb
1834–1917
Isaac A. Christlieb (Friedrich Carl Christlieb1, Carl Christlieb2, Isaac Christlieb3) [967], born 25 April 1834. Isaac immigrated to Long Lake, Minnesota in 1855, being one of the pioneers of the locality. “He served as Clerk and Assessor of the Town of Medina, Hennepin County, Minnesota. “The son of Isaac Christlieb, Isaac A. Christlieb was born in 1834, seventeen miles west of Carlisle in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, near Doubling Gap. He received his education in the public Schools of Mifflin Township. His early home was in a farming community. In 1855, at age twenty-one, he set out for the west and settled in Long Lake, Minnesota, where he spent forty-three years of his life as a farmer and at some later time acquired carpentering skills.”
“In 1897, he came to California and located in Pasadena, where he followed his trade as a carpenter for seven years. He then came to Orange County and purchased forty-nine acres in Fullerton, on March 24, 1903. This was undeveloped land with scrub growth and many rocks. It took hard labor to improve this land. As written in the “History of Orange County, published in 1911, Isaac A. Christlieb said in an interview that he had thirty-five acres planted to oranges and hoped to have all forty-nine acres in orchard by 1912. He also stated that from 63 trees he received a profit of $200 during the 1909 season.”
“Isaac A. Christlieb was married to Susan Baird in 1859. Born in 1837, she died in 1877. She was from Clark County, Ohio. This marriage ended in divorce. Isaac married Alice Whittaker. She died in Los Angeles in 1902. Isaac died in Fullerton on May 25, 1917 and is buried in the Rosedale Cemetery in Los Angeles where his third wife is also buried.” Clyde J. As already mentioned, Isaac A. Christlieb married 1st, Susan Baird, born 14 July 1837; died 7 January 1887. The couple divorced. Isaac married, 2nd, Alice Whittaker from Indiana, born 1839; died 1902. No issue. Isaac married 3rd, Mary E. Classen. From this marriage, two children were born.

Christlieb, dec’d., late of Mifflin Township, two miles from Snyder’s Hill on the road leading to Three Square Hollow: #1 property – 80 acres, log dwelling, frame barn, Brandy Run running through premises. #2 property – 10 acres of mountain land bounded by the lands of John Lay, John Whistler, and others.” Newville Star of Valley, September 14, 1867.
“I remember my grandmother, Mary E. Classen Christlieb Kadelbach, who lived in a house on a small orange ranch next to the Alex Christlieb. She always wore her silver white hair in a top-knot. She later lived with us in Ashland, Oregon.” Yvonne McAdoo, Bethesda, Maryland.

Married 2nd, 26 November 1920, Helen Delsing (Baptized as Christina Magdalena Catherine Delsing), daughter of Joseph Delsing and Frances Supheimer, born 1891, St. Paul, Minnesota; died 19 October 1987, Fullerton, California.
